About the Role

The Environmental Consultant (EC) is responsible for coordinating and delivering project-based work for the Operations Team, ensuring compliance with environmental certificate schemes, project team efficiency, and excellent customer service. This role influences project outcomes through stakeholder engagement and operational collaboration, acting as the first escalation point for operational and customer challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead the coordination and delivery of environmental certificate projects, ensuring compliance with scheme requirements, environmental regulations, and internal quality standards.
Coordinate project workflows and allocate tasks to team members for efficient and accurate project delivery.
Monitor project progress and identify opportunities for process efficiencies and compliance improvements.
Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and junior consultants.
Facilitate regular project check-ins to review progress and address technical queries.
Deliver technical briefings or refresher training on environmental certificate schemes, compliance, and internal processes.
Contribute to a collaborative project environment that promotes accountability, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Support client and stakeholder engagement through timely and accurate project communication.
Monitor monetary incentives and public policies for carbon emission reduction in Australia and propose solutions for negative environmental impact.
Advise industry on reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change impacts by accessing financial incentives.
Assist with business development and client training related to the ESS and ERF.
Assist customers with project quotes and maximizing energy savings.
Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing existing systems and processes.
Develop and maintain the company customer and prospect database.
Set and manage project processing times to ensure consistent improvement.
Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement project efficiency opportunities.
Lead customer meetings representing NCBA in regulatory discussions to gather feedback and identify service improvements.
Build and strengthen client relationships through proactive engagement.
Monitor and track customer KPIs, trades, and PLI agreements, addressing gaps proactively.
Attend relevant energy efficiency and sustainability events to develop leads and foster client relationships.
Attend relevant energy efficiency and sustainability events to develop knowledge on climate change solutions and emerging technologies.
Assist in developing policies and strategies to reduce carbon emissions and minimize environmental impact.
Analyze and advise on policies guiding environmental operations and programs.
Administer, investigate, and enforce provisions of the Energy Savings Schemes to ensure compliance.
Implement and uphold internal policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
Ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Stay informed of changes in compliance or regulatory obligations and communicate updates.
Monitor adherence to internal quality assurance processes and implement improvements.
Work closely with Audits to ensure necessary adjustments to compliance processes are communicated and implemented.

Requirements

A qualification comparable to an Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher in a highly relevant field.
At least 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience in the environmental & sustainability industry or experience interpreting environmental legislation.
