About the Role

Wood Street Vets is seeking an experienced and confident Veterinary Surgeon for their Barnet Hospital. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex cases, work to a high standard, and guide others within a supportive team environment. The hospital boasts modern facilities and a diverse patient base, including cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, and occasional chickens, with a range of surgical procedures from routine operations to advanced techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, and occasional chickens, along with wildlife.
  • Perform surgical procedures ranging from routine operations to laparoscopic work, orthopaedics, thoracic surgery, BOAS, and dentistry.
  • Utilize in-house capabilities including radiography, dental X-ray, ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscopy, laparoscopy, electro and radio surgery, stapling, orthopaedic kits, ventilators, and advanced monitoring.
  • Work up cases thoroughly and take the lead on areas of passion.
  • Advance skills and continue professional development.
  • Work alongside highly capable RVNs who run their own clinics and support surgeries.
  • Mentor newer graduates if interested in guiding the next generation of vets.

Requirements

  • Experienced, confident Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proactive clinician who enjoys managing complex cases.
  • Ability to work to a high standard and guide others.
  • Full-time applications only.
  • Must be able to work 42 hours across four days.
  • Must be able to work 1 in 3 Saturdays.
  • Must be able to accommodate sole charge shifts.
  • Must be working towards or interested in starting a certificate.
