About the Role
As a Boys Apparel Designer, you will be the creative guardian for a prestigious brand portfolio, ensuring the brand's unique DNA is translated into elevated, commercially successful designs across boyswear. You will bridge the gap between trend research and technical execution, making a tangible impact on the aesthetic direction of collections by reacting to market data. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, working with partner brands and internal garment teams to bring concepts to life.
Responsibilities
- Design High-Impact Boyswear/Baby Apparel Collections ages 0-14, blending technical functionality with licensed brand aesthetics.
- Manage Factory Partnerships by liaising directly with global factories and suppliers to oversee manufacturing.
- Build Trusted Licensing Relationships with external brand partners and internal teams.
- Coordinate Cross-Functionally with Garment Technologists, Buying, and Merchandising teams.
- Translate Global Trends by researching and communicating emerging trends in silhouettes, fabrications, trims, and colour.
- Deliver Technical Precision by producing detailed Tech Packs specifying garment construction, fabrics, trims, and fit specifications.
Requirements
- Possess an adaptable design handwriting and high attention to detail for switching between different licensed brands, trend aesthetics, age ranges, and product tiers.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to build thorough tech packs that respect factory capabilities and price points.
- Stay ahead of macro and micro trends, designing commercially viable, highly functional boyswear ranges aligned with a license partner's DNA.
- Resilience and agility to thrive in fast-paced design environments, staying organised and positive when priorities shift.
- Ability to present boyswear concepts with confidence and communicate complex technical and brand requirements clearly.
- Attach a digital portfolio demonstrating a sharp eye for future boys apparel designs, trend research, garment designs, and CAD work.
- Candidates requiring sponsorship must meet Home Office requirements.
