About the Role

The Army Software Factory (ASWF) in Austin operates like a modern, high-growth technology startup within the federal government, transforming Soldiers into software engineers through real-world development using methodologies like Extreme Programming (XP), Lean Product Development, and User-Centered Design (UCD).

Responsibilities

  • Enable others in a one-to-many model, focusing efforts on activities that scale to many practitioners.
  • Cultivate an environment for continuous practice improvement.
  • Establish core practices.
  • Drive continuous learning.
  • Deliberately coach for professional growth.
  • Curate learning resources.
  • Coordinate with Executive Leadership in standardizing enablement practices for the organization.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience as Product Manager.
  • Capable of coaching and managing the development of multiple senior product managers and their products, including resource management, product strategy, functional requirements, and releases.
  • 5 years of Experience coaching and coordinating work done by teams of functions (e.g., software engineers, security, compliance, data scientists, and product designers).
  • Familiar with lean and DevSecOps principles.
  • Able to confer with systems analysts, engineers, and others to design applications and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Capable of managing client relationships, including determining client needs/requirements, managing client expectations, and demonstrating commitment to delivering quality results.
  • Interim Secret Clearance Required: Candidates must be eligible to obtain an Interim Secret clearance to start.
  • Support and guidance provided for qualified candidates through the clearance process.
