About the Role
As a Senior Broker, you will be a key member of the Central Region Commercial Broking team, responsible for delivering tailored risk solutions to mid-market clients. You will collaborate with Account Executives and other internal stakeholders to develop and execute broking strategies that align with client needs and market conditions.
Responsibilities
- Manage a complex portfolio, including placement and service, and ensure client deliverables are maintained.
- Analyze client's specific risk exposure and detail coverage requirements.
- Prepare and present marketing proposals for renewals and new business.
- Negotiate with underwriters to establish the best conditions in terms of premiums and coverage.
- Follow up with the insurer to confirm that the conditions of the negotiated contract are respected.
- Approve documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals.
- Build contacts and maintain relationships within the underwriting community to obtain the best premiums and coverage for Aon customers.
- Participate in client and prospect meetings.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.
- Over 10 years of proven expertise in the insurance industry, including 3+ years in commercial broking, ideally within Property & Casualty (P&C) segments.
- In-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance products.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.
- Strong capability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service excellence and a passion for continuous learning.
- RIBO licence (or equivalent) is required or must be obtained within 3 months.
