About the Role
This position is central to a growing healthcare media offering, focusing on diverse areas of health communications. It blends strategic account management with earned media expertise to lead high-impact projects like corporate thought leadership, executive visibility, and disease awareness campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Provide lead counsel, strategic advice, and insights into industry developments to ensure world-class healthcare communications services.
- Offer earned media counsel for corporate thought leadership, brand storytelling, disease awareness, health technology, data milestones, congress activity, and senior executive visibility.
- Collaborate with the media specialist community to identify strong stories, refine media angles, develop journalist strategies, and integrate external media insights into client programs.
- Support story mining across accounts, identifying media opportunities from scientific, corporate, technological, or patient-focused material.
- Actively identify and convert organic growth opportunities and support new business pitches.
- Implement new approaches to meet client needs by leveraging FH’s capabilities and the OMC network.
- Represent FH at meetings with senior clients, stakeholders, and colleagues, providing consultancy in trending healthcare categories.
- Identify and participate in external thought leadership opportunities to promote agency expertise.
- Ensure the financial health of allocated accounts, identifying operational issues and proposing solutions.
- Meet revenue, utilization, and efficiency targets.
- Foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture with a sense of belonging for every team member.
- Grow, attract, and retain talent through feedback and coaching for junior team members.
- Support and communicate clear, progressive direction.
- Role model team values such as respect, curiosity, and courage, embracing challenges and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Strong agency experience in pharmaceutical and/or health-tech communications.
- Excellent client handling skills with the ability to distill complexity into compelling narratives.
- Earned media expertise, including strategy, press material development, journalist liaison, and advising clients on key news moments.
- Proven experience driving integrated, multi-channel, multi-stakeholder campaigns.
- Content creation and editing expertise, with a critical eye for reviewing communications materials.
- Financial, resourcing, team, and line management expertise, with solid project management capability.
- Ability to actively identify and deliver organic growth opportunities.
- A collaborative mindset with a track record of mentoring and inspiring teams.
- Champion inclusion, feedback, and professional development.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Able to work in the Bankside office at least 3 days per week.
