About the Role
You will own product strategy and delivery for a product area within an organization that has the autonomy of a startup and the reach of a multinational. You will set direction for your area, shape its strategy, and make day-to-day decisions aligned to a clear product vision, with coaching and support to ensure success. Depending on business needs, you may focus on financial crime and compliance, or on the consumer side, addressing acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization for millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Own a product area, identifying key levers and problems, and building a defendable roadmap.
- Set and evangelize a product vision, ensuring alignment in decisions and enabling others to explain the 'why'.
- Lead discovery efforts, determining research needs and translating learnings into decisions.
- De-risk initiatives by defining and prioritizing assumptions and selecting appropriate testing methods.
- Utilize data effectively to identify key metrics, interpret experiment results, and make informed scale or pivot decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering to ship products, writing clear PRDs, mitigating risks, and maintaining high standards.
- Drive measurable outcomes, completing initiatives and OKRs on time and reporting honestly on results.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate problem-solving discussions, and engage senior leaders when necessary.
- Communicate effectively across teams, presenting cohesive narratives and making trade-offs clear.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the unique customer base, focusing on their needs and goals.
- Coach and mentor junior product managers, review their work, and contribute to hiring (for senior candidates).
Requirements
- 3+ years in product management with a proven track record of independently owning and shipping products.
- Demonstrated success in improving key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Comfort operating in a regulated environment and experience with consumer growth challenges.
- Strong analytical skills, including setting thresholds, identifying data risks, sizing opportunities, and evaluating performance.
- Technical fluency to discuss APIs, automation, and trade-offs with engineers.
- Excellent organization, judgment, and attention to detail, with the ability to operate autonomously.
- Strong communication and influence skills, including driving consensus, articulating recommendations to executives, and writing clear specifications.
- Demonstrated ownership, collaboration, problem-solving, drive, and curiosity in work approach.
