About the Role
This role is the first technical seller in the GTM organization, defining the standard for Solutions Engineers at Genspark. You will engage with sophisticated IT and security buyers, build trust, demonstrate the platform's capabilities, and secure technical decisions. As the inaugural SE, you will create the technical sales playbook, partnering with GTM leaders and Account Executives to shape demo processes, technical evaluations, and establish the foundation for future SE hires. This position reports directly to the Head of GTM Engineering in a flat organizational structure.
Responsibilities
- Run the technical sales motion end-to-end, including discovery, architecture, demos, whiteboard sessions, executive briefings, and security reviews.
- Gain deep understanding of prospect's technology stack, including identity providers, CRMs, ITSM, cloud infrastructure, and integrated SaaS applications.
- Scope integrations, anticipate potential blockers, and prove value through pilot programs.
- Translate technical environments into scoped pilots, defining success criteria and demonstrating how Genspark's workflows enhance efficiency.
- Serve as the expert on security and access controls, including guardrails, approval workflows, least-privilege access, audit logging, and compliance.
- Build the SE toolkit from the ground up, including demo environments, reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, technical FAQs, and competitive positioning.
- Act as a liaison between field teams and product development, relaying objections, feature gaps, and real-world use cases to Engineering.
- Enable the GTM organization by creating demo assets, talk tracks, and training materials for Account Executives and future SEs.
Requirements
- 5+ years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a comparable pre-sales technical role at a B2B software or infrastructure company.
- Demonstrated ability to scope technical requirements, set up demos or proofs-of-value, and execute independently.
- Deep technical expertise and credibility to earn the respect of IT and security leaders.
- Ability to hold your own in architecture reviews, debug integrations, and answer security questions.
- Proficiency in understanding enterprise AI contexts, including LLMs, agentic workflows, and multi-modal AI systems.
- Ability to explain technical concepts like deterministic scripts versus reasoning agents and their implications for security reviews.
- Instinct to act as a trusted advisor, focusing on understanding and solving the core problem rather than just pitching features.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments, owning work end-to-end, and proactively identifying next steps.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical workflows into business value and presenting persuasively.
- Clear and concise writing ability.
