Responsibilities
- Drafting communications material and ensuring all materials meet LCP quality standards, including newsletters, website copy, member guides, booklets, educational material, short videos, tutorials, seminars, email nudges, postcards, and annual member benefit statements.
- Reviewing drafts produced by other team members, providing feedback, and ensuring changes align with project timescales.
- Managing workload and campaigns, including developing project plans and liaising with clients, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers.
- Briefing the LCP Brand & Design team to develop high-quality designs for less complex projects, from concepts to finished artwork.
- Checking own work for errors, inconsistencies, and improvements before sharing with more experienced team members.
- Following LCP procedures and best practice, particularly for external materials or client data handling.
- Supporting the development of new products and services for digital and print media.
- Supporting the new business process.
- Contributing to the development of client communication strategies and campaigns.
- Managing the production of communications, including liaising with web-developers or instructing printers.
- Supporting client relationship management, preparing materials, and attending client meetings.
- Developing templates and best practice material.
- Analyzing data from member surveys, client feedback, website monitoring, and focus groups to understand audience needs and optimize technology use.

- Skilled at building great client relationships.
- Proficient in working with internal teams to deliver client work on time and to budget.
- Ability to think clearly and logically, breaking down complex problems and communicating with clarity.
- Creative flair and strong visual eye, generating fresh ideas and understanding how design supports clear communication.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities under pressure.
- Self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile, including working extra hours or traveling for client meetings.
- Confident in presenting ideas and generating new business opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels, using confidence and clear communication to negotiate and resolve issues.
Skills
- Strong experience as a pensions communications consultant with client relationship management.
- Proficient in drafting engaging, accurate, and accessible copy for various audiences and media.
- Strong eye for design and experience briefing and collaborating with designers.
- Demonstrable success in building client relationships.
- Strong understanding of the UK pensions market, products, schemes, and providers.
- Comfortable with investment and pensions terminology, with experience making it understandable for non-experts.
- Experience delivering via print, web, video, digital, and motion graphics.
- Experience working with specialist suppliers in media fields.
- Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects, and build project plans.
- Ability to price work, manage budgets, and support client billing.
- Experience checking own and others' copy, providing feedback to improve team standards.
- Strong understanding of business risks related to communications and adherence to working practices.
- Experience applying skills to help people understand pensions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Comfortable with a range of AI tools.
- Graduate-level education (desirable).
- Strong technical knowledge of pensions legislation pertaining to communications (desirable).
- Experience managing cross-functional teams (desirable).
- Experience responding to new business requests or presenting in pitches (desirable).
- Communications thought leadership, such as presenting at conferences or producing blogs (desirable).
