About the Role

This temporary position involves coordinating store operations, supporting and training utility workers and cashiers. You will assign daily tasks, ensure preparations are complete, and lead the team in delivering superior guest service. The role requires setting an example by going above and beyond, providing outstanding customer service, and resolving guest issues effectively, while maintaining a professional and enthusiastic atmosphere in management's absence.

Responsibilities

Perform all Sales Associate and General Utility Worker duties
Hold pre-shift meetings to ensure team awareness of daily tasks, VIPs, Be the Difference & Safety of the day, and other operational information
Act as a concierge resource for guests, providing knowledge about the surrounding areas
Ensure all guests are greeted upon entering the store
Train Sales Associates and General Utility Workers to develop a customer service-focused team
Ensure smooth operations and effective customer relations management in the manager's absence
Respond directly to and resolve customer complaints efficiently and professionally
Maintain inventory stock, noting out-of-stock items or potential shortages
Order merchandise and supplies from warehouse and vendors to meet demand
Complete monthly safety inspections and file incident and injury reports
Ensure store cleanliness and a pleasant atmosphere
Compile daily cash and sales data using Microsoft Excel and various POS/Property Management Systems
Lead nightly close-out procedures and balance cash with daily sales
Perform nightly audits of cashier documentation
Assist management in employee scheduling according to labor budgets and assigning work tasks
Assist with hiring General Utility Workers and Sales Associates
Coordinate, correct, supervise, and submit payroll for the department, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting

Requirements

Previous retail experience preferred
Mathematical skills required for sales reports and audits
Must be of legal age to work with alcohol
Must provide proof of responsible alcohol training and certification where applicable
Must be flexible and willing to work a rotational schedule, including weekends and holidays
Must be fluent in the native language, both spoken and written
Must be computer literate in MS Office programs
Ability to operate equipment such as Photocopier, Vacuum Cleaner, Calculator, Printer, Telephone, Computer, Point of Sale (POS) System
Must be well-groomed and maintain a high level of professionalism
May have physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking/standing
May require uniforms and/or use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
