About the Role

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for assessing and repairing customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition, ensuring a high-quality customer experience. This role involves disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles, contributing to the company's promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use various tools to repair vehicle sections.
• Hammer out dents and repair minor body damage.
• Mix and apply filler resins to repair dents.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replace or repair glass and windshields.
• Replace or repair interior parts.
• Weld and attach parts into place.
• Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure correct execution.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Skills

• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

• Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.

Salary/Compensations

• Estimated $65,000 – $125,000+ per year
