About the Role

This intermediate-level professional role focuses on energy, power, and commodity trading clients within UK Natural Resources. The Senior Analyst will provide bespoke capital structure expertise and corporate finance advice, supporting business origination and execution of strategic financing transactions. The objective is to drive revenue by cross-selling the Citi platform, efficiently deploying capital, and managing risk.

Responsibilities

Partner with Senior Bankers to provide relationship management support to clients, alongside sector expertise.
Act as a core member of deal teams supporting origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions involving clients globally.
Stay abreast of market and industry trends, best practices, and the competitive landscape.
Conduct risk assessment and credit analysis of existing relationships, including periodic review of financial results/statements to monitor operating performance, liquidity, and financial condition, plus peer analysis, industry outlook, and preparation of financial projections and sensitivity analyses.
Develop client pitch materials tailored to client needs, lead execution of episodic transactions/financings, and foster ongoing client relationships.
Assist with day-to-day activities across cash management, trading initiatives, foreign exchange, loan activity, and debt and equity capital markets.
Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analysis.
Develop an in-depth understanding of business dynamics, a clear understanding of clients' priorities to identify opportunities, and strong internal relationships with key product, risk, and regional partners.

Requirements

Strong experience in a financing-focused role such as corporate finance/debt advisory, project finance, or capital markets/investment banking.
Ideally, prior experience in energy, power and commodity traders coverage.
Strong corporate finance mindset with solid understanding of capital structure drivers.
Strong credit skills and experience executing episodic transactions.
Quantitative, accounting, and financial modelling skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience); MBA or Master's degree preferred.
Strong modelling skills.
