About the Role

MUFG Investor Services seeks an experienced senior lawyer for its London-based global legal team. The role involves advising the business on legal matters, risk management, and commercial strategies.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate global vendor contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Software License Agreements, Subscription as a Service Agreements, Engagement Letters, and Non-disclosure Agreements.
• Recognize and escalate vendor contractual issues with relevant internal teams.
• Advise the business on day-to-day legal and regulatory matters across key jurisdictions.
• Assist with managing legal risk, including implementing and remediating contracts based on regulatory requirements like EBA Guidelines on Outsourcing Arrangements and Digital Operational Resilience Act.
• Track regulatory updates that may require contract revisions.
• Manage vendor contract matters from initiation to completion, including gathering information, determining actions, managing timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
• Review and draft legal documents, managing input from business and external counsel.
• Assist and advise Vendor Management and Legal on enhancing vendor contract review processes and procedures.
• Seek sign-off from relevant parties, manage execution, or provide final legal sign-off.
• Respond to vendor legal queries from operational departments, internal control/support groups, client integration/client services teams, senior management, and entity boards.
• Provide support for projects impacting MUFG vendors and vendor matters.
• Attend to other ad hoc duties or projects as required.

Requirements

• Qualified English solicitor with at least 5-10 years PQE.
• Must be admitted to the Law Society of England and Wales and be in good standing.
• Broad experience of commercial law.
• Broad knowledge of financial services is beneficial.
