About the Role
Deliver a 24/7 nationwide counselling and support service for Australians experiencing mental health challenges. Provide phone and webchat support to community members seeking help for emotional distress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference by supporting people during vulnerable moments, requiring compassionate and resilient individuals comfortable with overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide phone and webchat support to community members experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
- Support individuals experiencing challenging life circumstances.
- Support high volumes of calls and webchats discussing complex mental health concerns.
Requirements
- Empathetic, calm, patient, flexible, resilient, and genuinely motivated to support people.
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- Confidence using technology and managing multiple systems simultaneously.
- Excellent time management and administration skills.
- Resilience and the ability to support high volumes of calls and webchats.
- Experience working in office-based, corporate, customer service, or contact centre environments.

- A reliable and stable internet connection.
- Strong computer and IT skills, including the ability to navigate multiple systems while supporting callers in real time.

Experience Level
- Experience working in office-based, corporate, customer service, or contact centre environments.
- Candidates currently completing their first or second year of a bachelor’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work, social science, or welfare studies are encouraged to apply.
- Formal qualifications are not essential; however, applicants must demonstrate relevant experience.
