About the Role

Play a critical role in shaping how UNSW supports and cares for its people by providing frontline support for injury management and oversight of workers’ compensation claims. Influence best-practice injury management, early intervention, return to work design, and psychosocial support frameworks. Partner with leaders, P&C, and Employee Relations to deliver exceptional employee experiences and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support for injury management and oversight of workers’ compensation claims and processes.
• Uplift capability across the organisation on best practice injury management.
• Influence best-practice injury management, early intervention, return to work design and psychosocial support frameworks.
• Partner with leaders, P&C, Employee Relations to deliver exceptional employee experiences and outcomes.
• Support the implementation of the Health & Wellbeing Framework.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality outcomes for injured workers.
• Ensure integration of injury management practices with broader wellbeing initiatives for a holistic approach to workplace safety.

Requirements

• Highly experienced injury management and workers’ compensation professional.
• Deep expertise in complex case management, legislative compliance, and risk management.
• Confident working as a sole consultant to implement early intervention strategies within large, self-insured organisations.
• Relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience of 5+ years across personal injury, workers compensation or workplace rehabilitation.
• Strong knowledge of legislative requirements and compliance obligations for injury management and claims, particularly in a self-insured environment.
• A strong understanding of risk management methodology and its application in the workplace.
• Demonstrated expertise in complex case management and early intervention and response strategies.
• Data literacy, experience analysing and using datasets, and ability to interpret insights to drive improvements.
• A strong customer focus with a record of working in cross-functional environments to ensure safe operational outcomes.
• Ability to coordinate and monitor third-party providers, ensuring quality and timely service delivery.
• Ability to work within a program management environment to deliver transformational health and wellbeing projects and initiatives.
• Must have working rights in Australia.
• Must be able to be on site in Kensington regularly.
