About the Role
This role involves partnering with Design, suppliers, and global teams to develop new raw materials that meet high-quality standards, working at the forefront of fabric innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and source fabrics, trims, and raw materials to support new product ranges and seasonal development.
- Work closely with Design, Technical, and Product teams to bring product concepts to life.
- Manage raw material developments through testing and approval, ensuring quality, cost, and timelines are met.
- Coordinate fabric and trim testing, wear trials, and product evaluations.
- Maintain material specifications, development records, and libraries within PLM and other systems.
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials meet quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and new materials, sharing relevant insights with the broader team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Raw Material Development, Product Development, or Textile Development role within the apparel or textile industry.
- Strong understanding of fabric and trim development, with the ability to balance quality, cost, and commercial outcomes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple development projects and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach with strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive problem solver who enjoys working through technical challenges and driving continuous improvement.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage development information and product specifications accurately.
- Experience working with PLM systems and Microsoft Office will be highly regarded.
