About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial records for accuracy and compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank accounts, credit card, and intercompany transactions.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns, payroll remittances, T4, and other government filings accurately and on time.
- Assist with corporate income tax returns and other CRA compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CRA requirements, applicable provincial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Take full responsibility for payroll administration and the accurate and timely completion of EHT filings and remittances.
- Assist with special projects and perform other accounting duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual (English and Chinese) language proficiency.
