About the Role

The Project Engineering Manager (Thailand) is accountable for the engineering design, technical execution, and commissioning of a new graphite & carbon plant. This role manages multi-million dollar capital budgets, coordinates engineering firms, oversees suppliers, and ensures the delivery of a compliant and operationally ready industrial plant. Upon plant completion, the role transitions to Plant Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

Support the execution of capital projects, including technical equipment setup, system design coordination, and engineering schedule tracking.
Act as the onsite technical point of contact for new manufacturing equipment, automation, and industrial process systems.
Collaborate with external firms and OEMs to review detailed engineering drawings for site readiness.
Serve as the main technical interface for equipment suppliers, contractors, and engineering firms.
Work with internal departments (Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety) to safely execute field installations.
Drive mechanical completion, system dry/wet runs, operational training, and final technical project closure.
Proactively address and manage change orders submitted by suppliers.
Maintain coordination with the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) company.
Utilize project tracking tools to ensure engineering milestone dates are met.
Identify design gaps or execution bottlenecks, formulate solutions, and manage change orders.

Requirements

B.S. Degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering).
10+ years of progressive project engineering and product development engineering experience in complex industrial manufacturing or large-scale factory environments.
Proven track record of successfully managing and executing multi-million dollar greenfield or brownfield industrial plant installations.
Business-level fluency in English and native/fluent Thai.
Deep experience in factory engineering layouts, equipment maintenance strategies, and utility setups.
High proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent 3D engineering/modeling software.
Advanced skills in MS Project and enterprise planning ecosystems.
Accustomed to working within complex, matrix reporting environments.
Excellent managerial, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Proactive, self-developing mindset with the ability to work independently.
