About the Role

As a Principal Product Designer on Questbank, you will lead design across our consumer banking platform, including everyday banking, lending, onboarding, and money movement. You will work across teams and product boundaries to drive design vision across the integrated platform, partnering directly with Product and Engineering leaders to shape product development and quality. This role emphasizes an AI-first design approach, utilizing tools like Claude and Cursor for logic mapping and exploration, and Figma for systems and craft.

Responsibilities

Lead design on complex, cross-cutting problems that span multiple teams.
Drive design vision across banking, investing, and financing teams to ensure a coherent platform experience.
Utilize AI tools (Claude, Cursor) to map product logic, identify edge cases, and explore design directions.
Translate validated concepts into Figma for state coverage, system alignment, and production readiness.
Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to influence roadmap, scope tradeoffs, and product strategy.
Elevate the design practice by raising the bar for quality, process, and craft.
Mentor designers through crits, reviews, and direct collaboration.
Drive research and use data to inform design direction and synthesize findings into clear design rationale.

Requirements

8+ years of product design experience with increasing scope and influence.
Strong product thinking, understanding how design drives customer and business outcomes.
Exceptional visual craft and high standards for interaction design, usability, and product quality.
Deep experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering leaders.
Systems-minded approach, considering scale, consistency, and long-term leverage.
Strong understanding of how product needs evolve across different growth stages.
Active use of AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or Figma Make in design workflow.
Ability to lead ambiguous and complex problems, bringing structure and direction.
Strong communication skills to influence decisions and align teams.
A portfolio demonstrating industry-leading craft, systems thinking, and impact at scale.
Domain experience in lending, banking, or fintech is a strong asset, with the ability to ramp fast and think like an owner.
