About the Role
Candor is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to empower students and schools. This role is crucial in supporting students with diverse needs and helping them achieve their educational goals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the ARD committee to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide differentiated instruction in various settings to meet students’ academic, social, and behavioral needs.
- Collect and analyze data to track student progress and ensure instructional strategies are effective.
- Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
- Actively participate in ARD meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.
- Address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs through individualized support, accommodations, and modifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
- Valid Texas Educator Certification in Special Education (EC-12) through the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
- Knowledge of special education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Familiarity with the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
