About the Role

Candor is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to empower students and schools. This role is crucial in supporting students with diverse needs and helping them achieve their educational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the ARD committee to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide differentiated instruction in various settings to meet students’ academic, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Collect and analyze data to track student progress and ensure instructional strategies are effective.
  • Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
  • Actively participate in ARD meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.
  • Address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs through individualized support, accommodations, and modifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Texas Educator Certification in Special Education (EC-12) through the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • Knowledge of special education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Familiarity with the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
