About the Role

The Senior Application Developer guides other application developers and leads in the creation of large or complex applications that facilitate the achievement of business outcomes through the use of process and technology. This role will enable you to use your skills, knowledge, and experience to support the delivery of the NSWPF’s Data Strategy and several major programs focused on maximising the value of data for operational decision-making. We are looking for candidates that can support one or more of the following Chief Data Office teams: Data Engineering, Data Science and Business Intelligence.

Support major programs focused on maximising the value of data for operational decision-making.
Support Data Engineering, Data Science, or Business Intelligence teams.
Explain technical information to a non-technical audience.
Map out business requirements.
Bring business solutions into reality.

Requirements

At least five years’ experience in a large organisation.
Experience in Data Engineering: MSSQL, SQL, Oracle, python, managing on-premises data warehouses and cloud-based data lakes, developing and maintaining ETL pipelines, managing compute resources, and experience working in windows and linux environments.
Experience in Data Science: python, SQL, statistical analysis, computer vision, ML/AI, Natural Language Processing, and a PhD in a relevant discipline.
Experience in Business Intelligence: Power BI, python, SQL, ETL development, data insights, report development, Natural Language Processing, stakeholder communication and stakeholder management.
Being an exceptional communicator with a curious mindset.
Must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen.
Must undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check.
Must obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
