Responsibilities
- Determine appropriateness of examinations and contact physicians to clarify or modify orders when necessary
- Prep patients for exams by communicating with care teams
- Transfer patients on/off exam tables
- Transport patients when necessary
- Answer telephones in a timely manner
- Communicates with professionalism at all times
- For outpatients, check prescriptions to ensure patient demographics are correct, physician signature present, and reason for exam listed
- For inpatients, check requisitions for accuracy, including verify patient identification, physician's signature, and diagnosis
- Arrange transport in and out of the department
- Update technologists with appointment status (cancellations, changes, etc).
- Stock exam rooms
Requirements
- Current Radiology students preferred
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills; computer skills also required
- Prior hospital experience preferred
