About the Role
Develop an evidence-based view of the security landscape and translate technical and market signals into insights that shape strategy, positioning, product direction, and go-to-market decisions across Microsoft Security.
Responsibilities
- Conduct competitive intelligence across the cybersecurity and AI security landscape, tracking market trends, emerging competitors, customer requirements, and evolving buyer expectations.
- Develop rigorous, evidence-based assessments of competitor technologies, architectures, integrations, and security capabilities using technical analysis, benchmarks, and independent research.
- Translate complex technical and market insights into clear, actionable recommendations that inform positioning, messaging, strategy, and go-to-market decisions.
- Partner closely with engineering and product teams to influence roadmap priorities, investment decisions, and differentiation strategies.
- Produce high-impact competitive deliverables, including executive analyses, battlecards, strategic points of view, objection handling, and sales readiness content.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, cybersecurity, or a related field; OR Master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent practical experience.
- Deep technical expertise in one or more cybersecurity domains, including identity, cloud security, endpoint security, data security, security operations, or AI security.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate security technologies through benchmarking, technical analysis, and evidence-based assessments.
- Experience in software development, application security, DevSecOps, secure coding, or software supply chain security preferred.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives for business and technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional influencing skills, with experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, or strategic market analysis.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or cloud security certifications are a plus.
