About the Role

The Data & AI Business Development team drives strategic partnerships and growth initiatives for Microsoft’s Data & AI portfolio. This role focuses on AI partnerships and commercial growth of Azure AI with AI Natives and Digital Natives Companies.

Responsibilities

  • Define and author commercial and ecosystem strategies, including partnership constructs, business models, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Expand the reach and relevance of the Microsoft AI platform through engagements with partners and customers.
  • Stay informed on the AI space, follow emerging news, develop technical depth, and identify market trends.
  • Embody company values and principles of teamwork, curiosity, self-awareness, integrity, diversity, and allyship.
  • Leverage networks to develop new strategic relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Articulate the value of Microsoft solutions based on customer and partner business priorities.
  • Develop processes for information gathering and reporting, synthesizing key insights and trends for executive consumption.
  • Encourage customers and partners to create partnerships by applying and amending value propositions.
  • Influence internal stakeholders and partners, promoting the value of opportunities.
  • Position Microsoft's value proposition against competitors and influence build/buy/partner decisions.
  • Identify and collaborate with stakeholders to develop plans for sourcing deals that provide commercial value to the AI Platform.
  • Map target customers/partners and provide input on partner recommendations.
  • Formulate partnership strategies for products and businesses with stakeholder input.
  • Actively manage the deal pipeline by identifying, promoting, prioritizing, guiding, and influencing processes.
  • Represent Microsoft in key customer and partner interactions and recommend deal structures.
  • Collaborate to close opportunities and scale the business, identifying opportunities for customized approaches.
  • Serve as an escalation point and provide coaching to less experienced colleagues in negotiation.
  • Develop plans for managing deals, including communications and reporting.
  • Resolve blocking issues using known techniques.
  • Collaborate to develop post-deal governance and ensure alignment in execution plans.
  • Ensure customers and partners are prepared for implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Sciences, or related field AND 10+ years relevant work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Sciences, or related field AND 12+ years relevant work experience OR Master's/Advanced Degree in Business, Sciences, or related field AND 12+ years relevant work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience in the technology industry or in a related industry OR in a technical role.

  • USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area base pay range)
