About the Role

Microsoft’s Energy, Connectivity, and Sustainability (ECS) organization supports the company’s environmental sustainability agenda. As AI and cloud infrastructure scale, customers seek clarity on environmental impacts. This role translates Microsoft’s sustainability commitments into business-relevant narratives for internal and external use, addressing questions about resource intensity and environmental impacts of digital infrastructure growth.

Responsibilities

  • Support ECS in preparing for sustainability-related engagements.
  • Participate in meetings to communicate Microsoft’s sustainability commitments and progress related to infrastructure growth.
  • Assist internal stakeholders in addressing questions related to the environmental impacts of cloud and AI technologies, including emissions, energy use, and water consumption.
  • Develop and tailor sustainability-focused presentation materials for engagements, briefings, and executive meetings.
  • Prepare briefing documents and talking points for internal leaders in sustainability-focused customer discussions.
  • Maintain sustainability engagement assets aligned with approved corporate messaging frameworks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support sustainability-related readiness in conversations.
  • Contribute to internal briefings and readiness materials for customer conversations regarding the environmental impact of Microsoft’s digital infrastructure.
  • Support scalable approaches to sustainability engagement across regions and industries.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align sustainability messaging with evolving priorities.
  • Support ECS efforts to scale sustainable markets and infrastructure to enable broader digital infrastructure growth.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree AND 3+ years work experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR), philanthropies, government affairs, business and international development, or related area AND experience developing executive-level presentation materials including experience communicating sustainability or technical topics in a clear, business-relevant manner.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years' work experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR), philanthropies, government affairs, business and international development, or related area AND experience developing executive-level presentation materials including experience communicating sustainability or technical topics in a clear, business-relevant manner.
  • Equivalent experience.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with corporate sustainability topics such as carbon accounting, renewable energy, or emissions reduction strategies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise engagements (e.g. briefings, workshops, or executive meetings).
  • Experience supporting internal enablement or readiness efforts.

  • USD $105,800 - $204,000 per year (U.S. typical base pay range)
  • USD $138,400 - $223,300 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area base pay range)
