About the Role
Our Deal Advisory team is looking for a Manager to join our Value Creation Services (VCS) team in Sydney. This role will be responsible for leading complex transaction engagements across post-merger integration (PMI), carve-outs, and operational due diligence. You'll be delivering engagements and leading multiple workstreams across complex transactions. You will own senior client relationships, drive commercial outcomes, and play a key role in originating and winning new work.
Responsibilities
- Lead overall integration strategy and execution across functions
- Own synergy case development, validation, and executive sign-off
- Advise client leadership on integration risks, trade-offs, and priorities
- Lead steering committee discussions and executive updates
- Lead end-to-end separation engagements
- Design and validate standalone operating models and TSA frameworks
- Oversee stranded cost strategy and execution
- Manage complex, cross-functional separation programs
- Lead operational due diligence engagements
- Advise on deal value creation, risks, and execution strategy
- Challenge client and advisor assumptions with commercial insight
- Integrate findings into investment decision-making
- Own full project delivery (scope, budget, resourcing, commercials)
- Lead teams (typically 3–6+) across multiple workstreams
- Act as primary client contact for senior stakeholders (C-suite, PE)
- Manage escalations, governance, and decision-making forums
- Lead proposals, pitches, and client conversations
- Originate opportunities from existing and new clients
- Build long-term client relationships and market presence
- Contribute to go-to-market strategy and thought leadership
- Line manage and develop Managers and junior staff
- Drive team capability building and recruitment
- Lead development of methodologies, tools, and IP
- Contribute to broader Deal Advisory strategy
Requirements
- Extensive work experience in value creation within a professional services/corporate finance firm or background in another leading accounting or boutique advisory firm, private equity, investment banking or in industry corporate development roles
- Track record in leading full engagements or major workstreams across PMI / carve-outs
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong research skills as well M&A strategy specific skills
