About the Role
This is a hands-on parks maintenance role suited to an experienced MR driver who is confident working outdoors and has a strong background in maintaining parks, reserves and green open spaces. While driving is an important part of the role, you will also be actively working with the team to keep Council’s public spaces safe, clean, functional and well presented for the community.
Responsibilities
- Complete pre-start checks on the relevant vehicle and trailer combination, and safely drive the team, equipment and materials between Council sites.
- Operate ride-on mowers, including Iseki/Toro mowers, along with brush cutters, edgers, blowers, spray packs and other horticultural equipment to maintain parks and reserves.
- Work within a 2–3 person area maintenance team, reporting to a qualified Team Leader or Supervisor and supporting the team to complete daily maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
- Support the maintenance of gardens and sports fields, including litter picking, seasonal goalpost installation, wicket covering and other duties required to meet the changing needs of the business unit.
Requirements
- Experience in parks operations, open space maintenance, horticulture, landscaping or a similar outdoor maintenance role.
- A reliable and adaptable approach, with the ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
- A positive, can-do attitude and good communication skills, attention to detail and a strong focus on working safely as part of a team.
- Current NSW Class MR Truck Licence.
- White Card.
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident in Australia.
- Candidates who do not meet the essential qualification and licence requirements may not progress through the recruitment process.
- The preferred candidate must undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Check, which includes a Drug and Alcohol test.

Salary/Compensations
- $68,446 to $75,372 plus 12% superannuation
