About the Role
Outro Health is seeking a full-stack TypeScript engineer to join as the second engineer. The role involves transforming complex clinical workflows into reliable software, focusing on patient medication status and response. Key areas include integrations, clinical product development, patient-facing features, operations support, and end-to-end feature ownership.
Responsibilities
- Turn complex clinical workflows into thoughtful, reliable software.
- Connect Outro to insurance and data platforms for billing and scaling care.
- Extend the custom clinical tool with features like patient-provider messaging and AI tools.
- Develop and ship patient-facing features, including educational products and a React Native app.
- Develop AI agents for the operations team and scope data collection for research.
- Carry features from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Work directly with clinicians and operations staff.
Requirements
- TypeScript-focused product engineer who enjoys turning real-world systems into clear software.
- Experience shipping solo products, with a good visual sense for a v1 release.
- Comfortable across the full stack, with a backend or systems-minded approach.
- Cares about data modeling and domain boundaries, ensuring connected data.
- Builds software that absorbs complexity without becoming difficult to maintain.
- Skilled at resolving ambiguity by identifying needs, proposing solutions, and iterating.
- Thrives on ownership and proactive problem-solving.
- Excited by a broad range of product areas, including clinical workflows, patient education, integrations, and research data.
- Picks up unfamiliar domains quickly and uses that understanding to make informed decisions.
- Serious about AI tools, with informed opinions on their application and impact.
- Experiments with AI tools naturally.
- Ideally 3+ years of non-internship experience as a full-stack software engineer (flexible for the right candidate).
- Open to candidates with non-traditional experience.
