About the Role
Provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to young learners, helping them grow and develop foundational skills in math, reading, writing, and SEL. Create individualized learning plans aligned with the student's age and learning style.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions with 1st graders and early elementary students in the greater Silver Spring area.
- Develop and implement personalized, activity-based, and grade-level appropriate learning lesson plans.
- Communicate student progress and goals with parents.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements
- Passion for teaching and engaging with younger students.
- Strong knowledge of early elementary education subjects, particularly foundational ELA, reading fluency, phonics, and numeracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass a background check.
