About the Role
Functions as a senior-level healthcare provider with an independent outpatient schedule. This role extends beyond traditional Nurse Practitioner duties by contributing to education, quality assurance, and operational strategy optimization.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings.
- Manages complex patients within a specialty according to established protocols.
- Trains and orients new nurse practitioners, including education on new equipment and techniques.
- Develops and implements Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Contributes to the optimization of operational strategies and improvement of workflows.
- Evaluates patients by obtaining health histories and performing physical examinations.
- Orders, reviews, and interprets diagnostic tests and consultations to develop patient care plans.
- Prescribes medications and therapeutic interventions following standard of care.
- Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as applicable.
- Documents patient encounters in medical records according to best practices.
- Counsels and educates patients and their support systems on disease management, prevention, and health promotion.
- Confers with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Assists with research protocols when applicable.
- Performs other duties as determined by patient and practice needs.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in specialty at the nurse practitioner level.
- Evidence of strong leadership potential.
