About the Role
Meta is seeking a Technical Domain Manager (TDM) to implement and deploy corporate network infrastructure across various facility types. This role requires deep technical expertise, project management, and hardware logistics to drive infrastructure from design through delivery, focusing on problem-solving, standards development, and hands-on execution. The TDM collaborates with internal customers to deliver solutions that enhance connectivity and services globally.
Responsibilities
- Lead network infrastructure implementation and deployment for new builds, retrofits, and expansions across office, data center, retail, and POP facilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive network infrastructure design packages.
- Apply technology standards throughout the design phase and ensure consistent application across all facility types.
- Act as a subject matter expert for physical network infrastructure design, including structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and wireless.
- Utilize drafting software to produce and markup architectural/technology drawings.
- Influence future designs for seamless integration and scalability of new infrastructure.
- Consult with Design Engineering/SMEs for non-standard spaces like retail environments.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure fiber infrastructure management tools accurately reflect design intent.
- Drive all aspects of network construction and deployment, including new sites, retrofits, and build-outs.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership during analysis, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Perform site visits and collaborate with construction teams, architects, and contractors to validate infrastructure builds.
- Manage onsite integration for new builds and retrofits, resolving roadblocks for technicians and contractors.
- Drive alignment of network technology milestones with build schedules, and own project status tracking and reporting.
- Perform testing and commissioning handovers from technicians and vendors.
- Manage risks and changes on active projects.
- Develop and track budgets, forecasts, and actuals for network build projects.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between network engineering, build, and design teams.
- Identify and remedy process gaps with design and build teams to improve delivery methodologies.
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
- Manage the end-to-end hardware procurement lifecycle, including specification, vendor selection, and delivery.
- Own hardware logistics, including inventory management, staging, and shipping to site.
- Coordinate with vendors and supply chain partners to resolve hardware-related issues.
- Perform logical network bootstrapping functions to ensure internal tools reflect network hardware and circuits.
- Identify operational pain points and opportunities for business practice improvement.
- Initiate and lead strategic initiatives for efficiency, innovation, and standardization through coding and automation.
- Maintain technical references, processes, and training documentation.
- Provide day-to-day project coordination and quality assurance for active deployments.
- Manage project schedules, dependencies, and milestones across multiple concurrent builds.
- Travel up to 50% based on project demand.
