About the Role
National General is seeking an Inside Property Adjuster to join our Claims team. This role is responsible for investigating and managing complex homeowner claims from initial inspection through resolution, evaluating coverage, assessing damages, and preparing detailed estimates to support fair and accurate claim outcomes. You will work directly with customers, contractors, and internal partners to ensure timely resolution while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. This role is utilized as a peer mentor and may assign direction to more junior employees.
Responsibilities
- Investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex Homeowner's Claims.
- Determining coverage, damages and otherwise adjusting and negotiating claims within limit of authority.
- Creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for the most complex first party homeowner claims leading to the proper disposition.
- Investigating and managing complex homeowner claims from initial inspection through resolution.
- Evaluating coverage, assess damages, and prepare detailed estimates to support fair and accurate claim outcomes.
- Working directly with customers, contractors, and internal partners to ensure timely resolution while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
- Exhibiting mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities.
- Building mastered relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Interpreting regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
- Negotiating settlements, making settlement payments and documenting all activities in the most complex of files.
- Applying mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assisting leadership in formal and ad hoc training.
- Recommending process improvements.
Requirements
- Prior experience handling residential homeowner claims is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Xactimate and XactAnalysis is highly preferred.
- Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
- Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
- Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States, as it is not our practice to sponsor individuals for work visas.
- You must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating.
- Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
