Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate medical attention for patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries in the emergency department (ER).
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic tests, to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all patient interactions and treatment protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
  • Stay current with advancements in emergency medicine practices and protocols.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
  • Current, unrestricted New York State license.
  • Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.
  • Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
  • Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication, bedside manners and organizational skills
