About the Role
The Residence Manager will be responsible for providing supervision and support to all direct care staff within the CCR program at HSVS. This role ensures residents are cared for in a safe, therapeutic environment with adequate supervision and recreational programs.
Responsibilities
- Creates a warm, supportive home-like environment by maintaining a clean and hazard-free facility.
- Inspects the residence, monitors maintenance needs and reports to Program Director.
- Ensures residents' basic needs are met, including food, clothing, and proper care.
- Oversees the implementation of daily routines, including hygiene, school attendance, mealtimes, and studying.
- Ensures clear responsibilities for each shift and staff to promote safety and well-being.
- Models positive interaction between staff and children/family.
- Supervises and monitors counselors' interactions with children and families.
- Provides consistent weekly/bi-weekly individual and group supervision for direct care staff.
- Ensures supervisees have the necessary support, knowledge, skills, and tools to succeed.
- Conducts supervisions for staff.
- Ensures all in-house documentation is complete.
- Ensures staff receive appropriate training and follow the dress code policy.
- Holds staff accountable.
- Ensures recreational activities align with support plan goals and offer therapeutic support.
- Conducts monthly fire drills and completes appropriate paperwork.
- Provides clients with counseling and support.
- Uses strengths-based, trauma-sensitive intervention, communication, and practices to build relationships with residents.
- Attends interdisciplinary team meetings, including intake, incident review, utilization planning, and service plan review.
- Promotes family involvement.
- Accompanies, supervises, and provides transportation for appointments, home visits, sibling visits, and activities when necessary.
- Completes bi-weekly payroll for all staff members stationed at the residence.
- Facilitates team meetings with staff to review relevant policies and procedures.
- Manages and reconciles the petty cash fund in compliance with policy.
- Ensures the security of cash and proper disbursement of funds.
- Ensures adherence to medication therapy regimes by monitoring staff compliance.
- Oversees the distribution of residents’ personal needs allowances and meets with residents to review money management skills.
- Maintains records in compliance with Social Security Administration reporting requirements.
- Manages all accounts payable related documentation for household functioning, including purchasing.
- Ensures timely submission of invoices and work orders.
- Responds to all emergencies and provides crisis management, including on-call duties and emergency shift coverage.
- Reports incidents and ensures timely completion of incident reports.
Requirements
- Associate degree required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid NYS driver's license required.
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience providing childcare or working in a child-centered environment.
- Must obtain S95 and F07 Certification within 3 months of employment.
- First Aide Certification within 6 months of employment required.
- Required experience in program management.
- Preferred experience as a housing provider for clients with highly specialized needs and multiple psychosocial risk factors.
- Ability to work flexible hours/schedules.
- Leadership abilities to supervise staff, 8 residents, and provide corrective counseling.
- Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to complete documents, reports, and participate in meetings.
