About the Role
Horizon Media is seeking a dynamic individual to oversee social media strategy, buying, and team development. This role involves maintaining strong internal and client relationships, leading strategic planning, managing campaign execution, and fostering team growth within a fast-paced, innovative marketing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain strong cross-team relationships within Horizon Media.
- Anticipate and address requests from internal teams and clients.
- Apply knowledge of client businesses and industries to enhance relationships.
- Serve as a day-to-day resource for client teams, ensuring project prioritization and alignment with objectives.
- Build trust and positive relationships with clients.
- Act as a primary resource for junior team members navigating internal and external partner conversations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Lead larger team projects and initiatives, improving processes and workflows.
- Oversee RFP creation, proposal analysis, and partner negotiations for social media.
- Lead strategic social plan development with Digital & Business Solutions teams.
- Lead team brainstorms for plan and consideration set development.
- Develop POVs on relevant trends, tools, and opportunities in paid social media.
- Maintain oversight of media-specific documents, including media plans and strategy decks.
- Oversee the completion of financial tracking documents.
- Manage Quality Assurance (QA) of tracking functionality and creative units.
- Provide education on best practices, social media principles, and the industry.
- Manage and develop junior team members, creating growth plans and setting career goals.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify training needs.
- Participate in the interview process for junior team members.
- Guide team in setting goals, project tasks, and timelines.
- Guide senior leadership in developing and implementing broader team initiatives.
- Encourage junior team members to participate in Horizon initiatives and the Social community.
- Oversee junior team campaign buying from set-up to reporting, implementing QA processes.
- Support measurement planning and ensure accuracy of trafficking and site tagging.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of internal buying and reporting tools.
- Act as the main point of escalation for junior team members during execution challenges.
- Oversee and approve insertion orders within internal systems.
- Create and present media-specific documents such as RFPs and media plans.
- Integrate social insights into the overall planning process using data, research, and analytics.
- Maintain team deliverables calendars.
- Oversee junior team member data analysis and client feedback for recommendations and optimizations.
- Act as the final checkpoint for campaign optimization and pacing.
- Lead the development of processes with Horizon Analytics for data aggregation and standardization.
- Oversee the development of learning agendas, including testing methodologies and optimization requirements.
- Analyze large datasets to provide critical thinking and analysis for active client campaigns.

- Understanding of marketing principles, analytics, and concepts

- Experience buying ads on Facebook and Instagram
- Experience with advanced targeting/retargeting tactics in social
- Budget/investment management in social media
- Full social strategy process ownership
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present and "sell through" ideas internally and to clients
- Strong experience navigating cross-department relationships
- Leadership and supervisory experience in developing media professionals
