About the Role

This position is responsible for the day-to-day farming activities, including operating farm machinery and equipment for plowing, disking, land planning, and planting various row crops. Responsibilities also include operating heavy equipment, hauling grain, irrigation, rouging, spraying, harvesting crops, and assisting with station equipment and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate farm machinery and equipment for plowing, disking, land planning, and planting row crops such as rice, soybeans, corn, grain sorghum, wheat, and cover crops.
• Operate heavy equipment including track hoe, backhoe, and road grader.
• Operate grain trucks and trailers for hauling seed to grain elevators and UADA Foundation Seed destinations.
• Perform irrigation, rouging, spraying, and harvesting of crops.
• Assist in station equipment maintenance and upkeep.
• Assist in general station maintenance and upkeep, including shop, office buildings, and station houses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
• At least 1 year of experience in row crop farming (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to operate a grain truck with a 42' hopper bottom trailer.
• Ability to show up for work on time and daily.
• Ability to work on weekends and 40+ hours a week as needed.
• Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
