About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on technical lead to join our team as Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and support of Element Fleet's AWS cloud infrastructure. You will maintain scalable and secure cloud environments to support the company’s transition from on-premises infrastructure to AWS Cloud Services. You will play a critical part in developing and implementing the company’s cloud migration roadmap, ensuring high availability, performance, and security while modernizing IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS aligned to best practices and business requirements.
- Lead the technical execution of cloud migration initiatives from legacy on-premise infrastructure to AWS.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to define cloud architecture and operational procedures.
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to ensure system performance and availability.
- Document infrastructure architecture, procedures, and support models for knowledge transfer and compliance.
- Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years in infrastructure/operations or SRE across hybrid environments (VMware/Windows/Linux).
- 3+ years hands-on AWS (EC2/EKS/ECS, Kubernetes, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch/CloudTrail/Config).
- Proven track record migrating workloads from on-prem to AWS at scale (discovery, wave planning, execution, cutover, rollback).
- Strong networking fundamentals (CIDR, routing, VPN/Direct Connect, DNS), security (IAM, KMS, guardrails), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation).
- Certified AWS Solutions Architect – Associate, Professional preferred.
- One of: AWS SysOps Administrator or AWS DevOps Engineer (preferred).
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD.
- Experience with Control Tower/Organizations multi-account setups, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, and hybrid DNS.
- Familiarity with security/compliance frameworks (CIS/NIST/ISO) and audit evidence practices.
- Background with FinOps, showback/chargeback, and unit economics reporting.

- $99,200 - $136,400 annually
