About the Role

As a member of the Corporate Banking team, you’ll work in a fast-paced organization where you’ll make a meaningful difference in our clients’ lives. The Director, Agency Services, Project Finance & Infrastructure will be responsible for managing all client-facing and lender-facing activities on transactions where CIBC is acting as Administrative Agent or is a bilateral lender to a client. The Agency Services team will serve as the main point of contact for deal stakeholders while closely working with the Portfolio Management team and Deal Execution Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated coverage of agented or bilateral transactions in conjunction with the New York Portfolio Management and Deal Teams and the Toronto based CPS (Agency) team
  • Serving as the main point of contact for deal stakeholders (sponsors, borrowers, consultants, lawyers, lenders etc.)
  • Coordinating the lender group in responding to Borrower requests such as amendments, waivers or consents
  • Coordinating and directing the relevant advisors on a transaction (e.g. independent engineer, legal advisor, insurance consultant) as needed to respond to Borrower requests
  • Distributing required information and reports to lenders as needed
  • Organizing and participating in all lender / sponsor calls and updates
  • Discussing and answering credit and deal structure related questions from other lenders
  • Determining whether required lenders have approved or declined borrower requests

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in Project Finance in an Agency Services function
  • Demonstrated skills in client / relationship management, stakeholder engagement, consensus building and optimizing operational efficiencies
  • Experience in Project Finance loan documentation
  • Knowledgeable in the roles and responsibilities of deal advisors (lawyers, engineers etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the credit standards and terms for project financings
  • Must fit properly and successfully within the CIBC culture
  • Legally eligible to work at the specified location(s)
  • May be asked to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills tests
