About the Role

This critical strategic role focuses on accelerating Post Trade's strategy and objectives by driving the execution of complex, high-impact market modernization initiatives. The Managing Director will provide dedicated delivery leadership to Post-Trade Innovations and CDCC, supporting the delivery of Post Trade products and client-centric solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner deeply with Product Teams across Post Trade to translate product visions, commercial goals, and market requirements into executable program delivery roadmaps.
  • Establish rigorous execution frameworks, milestones, and governance models to ensure Post-Trade Innovations, CDCC, and CDS operate in lockstep.
  • Provide dedicated, strategic, and delivery support to Post Trade Innovations, CDCC, and CDS to ensure efficient execution of the Post Trade delivery strategy.
  • Provide strategic support for the execution and alignment of major market modernization initiatives, specifically the Canadian Collateral Management Service (CCMS) and the Repo program.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to ensure strategic and operational alignment for the Bank of Canada's (BoC) integration into the Post Trade framework, including the implementation of the CCP tri-party repo platform.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., BoC, CIMPA) to gather strategic insights, champion clearing initiatives, and validate new service proposals for Post Trade.
  • Ensure optimal, formalized deliveries with key internal stakeholders to efficiently advance CCMS, Repo 2.0, and other core business objectives.
  • Enforce key governance, including the formal escalation path and milestone criteria.
  • Take direct responsibility for strategic and operational conflict resolution across CDS and CDCC business lines.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for external representation with Clearstream.
  • Establish a strict pre-briefing protocol for client engagements to ensure unified messaging regarding value propositions.
  • Design and implement a mandatory, structured knowledge-transfer and cross-training program to decentralize business and product expertise.
  • Enforce mandatory participation of all dedicated resources in CCMS squad meetings and planning sessions.
  • Implement unified resource-tracking dashboards for visibility into team capacity and competing priorities.
  • Provide formal performance evaluation input to the functional leaders of dedicated resources.
  • Maintain authority to initiate external recruiting processes if internal resource constraints delay critical strategic deliverables.
  • Manage hiring, training, and development of team members; set comprehensive objectives for individual and organizational performance and growth, enforcing accountability at all levels.
  • Recruit, mentor, and elevate a world-class team of delivery professionals and subject matter experts.
  • Instill a culture of extreme ownership, high psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other senior resources to ensure objectives are aligned across all functions and business units, and create a culture of change and continuous improvement.
  • Challenge the status quo in a manner which inspires others to welcome change rather than create tension, leading with influence rather than authority.
  • Act as a culture carrier who challenges the status quo constructively.
  • Inspire cross-functional teams outside of direct reporting lines to embrace change, collaborate transparently, and break down legacy departmental silos.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to provide support and strategic guidance, or take on time-critical tasks with minimal prep time.
  • Enhance employee engagement and culture by fostering a positive work environment, promoting employee development, and recognizing and rewarding employee contributions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in fixed income markets, both in Canada and internationally, with a specific focus on the repo market and clearing markets.
  • Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale market infrastructure programs.
  • Deep expertise in the Canadian fixed income and repo markets, combined with strong analytical skills to inform and execute strategic direction.
  • Proven experience working on complex fixed income products and market structures, including repo clearing.
  • Demonstrated commercial success and hands-on experience in engaging with buy-side and sell-side firms across Canadian and US markets to address complex operational and regulatory needs.
  • Exceptional track record of managing and transforming complex teams, developing future leaders, and driving high employee engagement scores in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in a complex environment (solid-line/matrix reporting) where resources must balance functional standards with strict program delivery timelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with central banks or other regulatory bodies on market initiatives is highly desirable.
  • An MBA, CFA, or advanced degree in project/program management is highly desirable.
  • Direct experience designing and executing formal project governance models, including RACI frameworks, cross-organizational risk management, and formal steering committee reporting is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English and French is an asset, given regular communications with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
