About the Role
Compass Family Services is seeking a Senior Director of Housing Programs to guide five program teams and support over 40 staff. This role involves coordinating strategy, working with funders and the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH), and shaping programs and policy for homeless families in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Compass housing programs provide effective, trauma-informed services enabling families to move from homelessness to stability.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and align program services.
- Provide direct supervision and ongoing support to Program Directors for various housing and eviction prevention programs.
- Represent Compass housing programs externally and partner on advocacy efforts.
- Build strong relationships with funders, ensure contractual obligations are met, and manage fund utilization and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Development team to secure additional funding.
- Utilize data to inform housing efforts, analyze program effectiveness, and improve family outcomes.
- Ensure trauma-informed service delivery and robust clinical training for staff.
- Integrate inclusive, equitable, and anti-racist perspectives into services.
- Provide crisis intervention and direct client care when necessary.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in staff supervision, including direct and indirect reports.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, coach, and mentor.
- At least 3 years of experience developing and managing nonprofit programs for low-income, housing-insecure, or homeless individuals.
- At least 3 years of experience managing complex budgets and government contracts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Experience supporting individuals in crisis and with trauma-informed care.
- Strong communication, advocacy, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep commitment to and demonstrated success in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with subsidy programs is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is desired but not required.
- Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Real estate experience is a plus.

Salary/Compensations
- $135,000 - $145,000 per year
