About the Role

Join our Pediatric School-Based Team and use your passion for helping students improve mobility, access their educational environment, and reach their full potential! This is a part-time position for the 2026-2027 school year, approximately 12 hours per week, focusing on direct student services and supervision responsibilities within a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides skilled physical therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients.
  • Adheres to state requirements for supervision of PTAs to provide services with the highest care standards.
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending follow-up programs.
  • Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
  • Maintains patient records confidentially.
  • Records treatment charges daily and completes documentation in accurate and timely manner.
  • Complies with the applicable State Physical Therapy Practice Act, codes and regulations.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  • Maintains clean work area, clean treatment rooms and requests needed supplies.
  • Maintains professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and other professionals as it relates to collaboration of care for the patient.
  • Keeps regular clinic hours as approved by Manager.
  • Directs all patient scheduling matters through the front desk coordinator.
  • Attends meetings as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current State Physical Therapist license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and time management skills.
  • Must keep best interest of the client and family at the forefront of all activities.
  • Collaborative nature.
  • Allegiance to the mission, values, and vision of the organization.

Skills

  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles, techniques, materials and equipment in pediatric physical therapy.
  • Ability to evaluate a patient’s physical therapy needs and communicate the patient’s needs to the legal guardian and/or appropriate parties involved in the patient’s care.
  • Ability to communicate with a high degree of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CPT & ICD 10 coding procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of computer programs (EMRs).
