About the Role
The UK&I Process Automation (PA) business is seeking a Business Development Manager to develop business within the Gas Utilities/Midstream segment, focusing on Digital Transformation driven by Cyber Security legislation. This role will identify new sales leads and project opportunities for both new and existing end users, developing new offers using a consultative technical sales approach. The successful candidate will establish and grow Schneider's footprint within this segment through strategic planning, opportunity analysis, and relationship building.
Responsibilities
- Manage a dynamic opportunity portfolio across UK&I major utilities Companies.
- Generate a healthy pipeline of opportunities, working closely with offer managers to meet customer requirements.
- Create and maintain meaningful, trusted relationships with high-level decision-makers and technical authorities within the Utilities segment.
- Gain preferred status in project specifications for Schneider Electric products, software, and solutions, particularly around Software and Cyber Security solutions.
- Analyze customer requirements and address them within the Schneider ecosystem.
- Learn and articulate disruptive digital transformation solutions.
- Create and maintain close working relationships with customer C-level executives and internal Schneider teams.
- Work independently as the key Midstream business development manager in a geographic area and with key accounts.
Requirements
- Proven experience in business development and software solution sales.
- Strong expertise within the Utilities, Water, Wastewater, or Energy & Chemicals sectors.
- Solid understanding of customer processes, industry challenges, and digital solutions.
- Experience working within matrix organizations and managing complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and accountable, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Collaborative leader with strong relationship-building and team development skills.
