About the Role

The Backend Engineer at iCapital will design and implement systems powering the iCapital platform, building highly performant and intuitive APIs and applications. We seek driven team members with technical depth and a desire to deliver end products for clients, collaborating with Product Management throughout the software development process. The platform uses a micro-services architecture with services in Scala, Ruby, Node.js, and Python, offering opportunities to learn new technologies on the job.

Responsibilities

Building cloud native services using Python and Scala with frameworks like FastAPI and ZIO.
Developing unit and integration tests using Scala Test, ZIO Test, and PyTest.
Actively participating in stand-up meetings.
Participating in Peer Code Reviews as part of the standard SDLC and Change Management Process.

Requirements

6+ years of web-based application development.
Experience in Python, Scala, or Node.js.
Understanding of how SSO works is a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of relational or NoSQL database concepts and modeling practices.
Passion for actively learning new technologies.
Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
Solid problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Collaborative approach to software development.
