About the Role

Rocket Money is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to enhance marketing efficiency, attribution, and experimentation. This role will leverage customer lifetime value modeling, media mix attribution modeling, and causal impact assessments to drive marketing strategies. The position also involves leading product scientific experimentation programs, including developing tooling and processes for self-service experimentation.

Responsibilities

Build and integrate next-generation customer lifetime value models into marketing portfolio decision-making and optimization.
Support internal marketing effectiveness measurement and estimation approaches.
Lead projects from inception to completion, making key decisions on scope and implementation while balancing technical and business goals.
Design and conduct experiments to assess the impact of marketing and product strategies, leading a systematic marketing and product experimentation program.
Contribute to product experimentation through expert experimental design, assessment, and collaboration with product managers.
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to build scalable machine learning and data analytics pipelines for marketing and product experimentation.
Optimize for continuous product feedback loops, understanding the lifecycle of data product development.
Build, test, and deliver internal predictive tools.
Design and assess experiments for various user-facing experiences.
Maintain a high technical standard through mentoring, code reviews, and ensuring production system quality.
Mentor team members to enhance their technical skills.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design predictive feedback mechanisms for digital ad networks and enhance the in-house experimentation engine.
Stay current with marketing data science advancements and implement cutting-edge operational changes.
Create scalable approaches and tooling to enable self-service product experimentation by the data team.

Requirements

6+ years of professional experience in data science.
Proficiency in SQL, at least one scripting language, statistical modeling, and engineering scalable experimentation solutions.
Direct experience building production-grade tooling for operational use by internal decision-makers.
Experience driving marketing and product strategy with experimental and observational data.
Experience building tools for tactical implementation of strategy.
Experience working with engineering teams to design feedback signals between applications and ad networks or build experimentation platforms.
Proven ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical insights effectively.
Ability to drive alignment with marketing strategy and operations.
Focus on solving business problems.
Deep understanding of context and business impact.
Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Experience in documenting, soliciting feedback, and securing alignment among collaborators.
Deep experience in customer segmentation, customer lifetime value modeling, A/B testing and causal inference, or media mix modeling.
Experience in fintech, banking, or finance is a plus.
