About the Role

As a leader of the Housekeeping Department, you will be responsible for managing the housekeeping and laundry facilities of the hotel in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and protect hotel assets. Embrace the Company Culture and Guiding Principles.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily cleaning of hotel and grounds according to operational policies and standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Schedule associates based on forecasted occupancy and adjust staffing for sudden changes.
  • Plan, assign, and supervise daily activities of housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Perform duties of a housekeeper, laundry person, or house person as needed.
  • Conduct continuous inspections to assess hotel cleanliness and condition, and perform follow-up actions.
  • Schedule and supervise rotational and special cleaning programs.
  • Ensure the team has necessary tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, including generating work orders and preventative maintenance.
  • Manage lost and found.
  • Coordinate room availability with front-of-house management.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, parts lists, manuals, and reference books.
  • Monitor customer comment cards, identify problem areas, and formulate solutions.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and manage cost per room for supplies and labor.
  • Perform monthly inventory.

Requirements

  • Keep immediate supervisor informed of all significant problems or unusual matters.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner according to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all associates to foster a cooperative environment.
  • Utilize Management Company resources effectively through regular communication.
  • Possess strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with guests and team members.
  • Ability to work and interact with associates at all levels.
  • Ability to direct and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Project a favorable image of the hotel to the public at all times.
  • Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays.
