About the Role

The Senior Test Analyst is an integral role within UNSW IT's domain solutions' teams, collaborating with various stakeholders to execute multiple types of testing, including manual and automated. This role is responsible for preparing test plans, test cases, and test reports, while staying updated with and applying UNSW IT testing standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of project requirements and design meticulous test cases for thorough coverage.
• Perform manual and automated testing within waterfall or agile sprints, covering system integration, functional, volume, user interface, and performance testing.
• Ensure product releases consistently exceed predefined quality standards.
• Document test cases, plans, results, and defects while analyzing testing efforts for completeness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including estimations and retrospectives, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Create, maintain, and run automated test scripts for efficient testing processes.
• Collaborate with Business teams, developers, and SMEs to ensure alignment with customer and business requirements.
• Contribute and advocate to the wider development and engineering community through participation in development guilds for knowledge sharing and learning.
• Establish, maintain, and execute a common set of test cases and test scripts for both BAU and project testing, using the UNSW IT testing framework, process, and tools.
• Analyze and report test activities and results to identify and implement continuous improvements to testing and QA processes, methods, tools, and standards.
• Take responsibility for escalating test issues and ensuring they are driven through to resolution.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline together with 5+ years’ experience in software testing.
• Demonstrated capability in software testing including preparation of test plans, test cases, execution of tests and reporting of defects.
• Extensive experience with CRM D365, Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimiser and Automation using Selenium.
• Extensive experience in the development and implementation of IT testing strategies, including full life-cycle testing methodologies and the systems development life-cycle.
• Experience working in an Agile/ Dev-Ops environment will be advantageous.
• Understanding of automated testing tools or technical testing frameworks e.g. Cucumber/Gherkin/Karate, Playwright, TestNG, Zephyr, Selenium, Browserstack, Jenkins, Ghost Inspector or similar.
• Comprehensive understanding of various testing phases, such as System Testing, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Performance testing etc.
• Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to structure and articulate messages to different audiences at all levels.
• Ability to advocate the value of software testing processes and methods to stakeholders including Project Managers, Business Analysts and Developers.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly absorb information and utilise it to analyse, interpret and integrate complex information.
• Proven experience in working autonomously and proactively to identify and deliver innovative insights and models to drive business performance.
• Excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, work independently with effectiveness, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative and resolve complex problems as they arise.
• An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
