About the Role

The Nuevo Camino program at HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) supports unaccompanied minors aged 5-12 in a transitional foster home environment. The program provides daily educational services and wrap-around support, ensuring trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and individualized care in compliance with ORR requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and support to unaccompanied children in the Nuevo Camino program.
  • Identify and assess appropriate sponsors for family reunification.
  • Evaluate the safety and well-being of potential sponsors.
  • Collaborate with the Nuevo Camino team and Federal Field Specialist to address sponsor-related concerns.
  • Ensure each child receives essential services, including medical, dental, mental health, education, orientation, and legal screening.
  • Maintain compliance with all program requirements, federal regulations, and case management standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of similar experience required.
  • Bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish required.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and co-workers.
  • Knowledgeable about working with immigrant youth population.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, multi-task, and determine priorities.
  • Knowledgeable about ACS/OCFS regulations governing disciplinary actions.
  • Experience and facility working with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • CPR-Certified a plus.
  • HSVS requires all new hires to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
