About the Role

Base is seeking a Global Supply Manager to manage supplier relationships, support product development and manufacturing, and implement sourcing strategies. This role will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to execute the product roadmap, focusing on general hardware manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end RFx processes, including scoping requirements, issuing RFQs, evaluating responses, and driving supplier selection.
• Build and maintain should-cost models to benchmark supplier pricing and identify cost-down opportunities.
• Negotiate piece price, tooling, payment terms, and master agreements.
• Own the commercial relationship with key suppliers, tracking performance and managing escalations.
• Develop and execute commodity strategies to optimize cost, supply continuity, and risk.
• Drive supplier readiness for production ramp and sustained manufacturing, including capacity planning and lead time management.
• Synthesize findings and present recommendations on contract awards, cost reviews, risk mitigation, and supply continuity to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Background in sourcing board-level electronics (passives, actives, interconnects, and related direct electronics commodities).
• Strong grasp of component cost drivers, supplier dynamics, and full lifecycle management.
• 3+ years of sourcing experience in a similar role.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible mindset and temperament.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (average 25% travel).

• First principles thinking toward supplier negotiations.
• Managing successful escalations up to the executive level within a supplier.
• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
