About the Role
Leidos is seeking a Data Science Intern with an interest in algorithm research, development, and implementation, who also possesses a strong scientific curiosity and desire to learn new things. This role involves working with a mentor to develop cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and statistical models for national defense.
Responsibilities
- Work with a mentor to develop cutting edge machine learning algorithms and statistical models for national defense.
- Work with a mentor to research and apply state-of-the-art solutions to novel problems across the active and passive sensing domains.
- Work with a mentor to conduct actionable data analysis.
- Contribute to AI/ML research code in support of rapid prototyping.
- Document results.
- Work collegially within a talented team of peers.
Requirements
- Junior or Senior in college working towards a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- Experience in Python and the standard machine learning libraries.
- Good analytical and mathematical skills.
- Interest in scientific algorithm development, applied machine learning research, large dataset analysis, and signal processing methodologies.
- Interest in innovation, problem solving, and achieving technical results.
- Ability and desire to learn new concepts.
- Ability to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
