About the Role
Citi is seeking an experienced Vice President for its UK Investment Banking Financial Institutions Group. This role focuses on advising banks, wealth managers, and stock exchanges on significant transactions within the UK financial services sector. You will lead deal execution for M&A, IPOs, and private placements, collaborating with senior bankers and clients to achieve impactful results. This position offers the chance to take significant ownership of client relationships, transaction delivery, and team development within a leading global financial institution.
Responsibilities
- Advise UK financial institutions clients on M&A, IPO, and private placement transactions, acting as a key contact throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Lead transaction execution from mandate to close, coordinating with clients, senior team members, and external advisors.
- Develop and present analyses, pitch materials, and presentations to articulate strategic options and transaction rationale.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth within the UK Financial Institutions Group.
- Oversee and mentor analysts and associates on live transactions, reviewing their work and supporting their development.
- Engage in special situation mandates, applying judgment to complex advisory assignments.
Requirements
- Prior investment banking experience with direct involvement in M&A, IPO, or private placement transactions in the financial services sector.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and take ownership of transaction execution at a senior level.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment requiring accountability, attention to detail, and sound commercial judgment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
